4 ways to be calmer
Want to make today healthier and less frantic? Then think yourself calmer:
1. Watch what you say
Try saying, ‘It upset me’ instead of ‘I was absolutely devastated.’
2. Reality check
Ask yourself, ‘What’s the worst thing that could happen? Is the amount of stress I’m experiencing equal to the situation?’ In most cases if you’re honest, you’ll realise you’re overreacting.
3. Believe in yourself
Acknowledge that you are a good person and that you are intelligent, compelling and appealing. This will help reduce ‘I’m not good enough’ fears that increase stress by making you feel vulnerable.
4. Give yourself credit
Remind yourself that, as uncomfortable or unpleasant as any situation may be, you are in fact surviving this busy/difficult period.
