How long should you keep make-up?
Know the shelf life of your beauty products!
Since natural beauty products don’t contain the preservatives regular cosmetics do, they tend to break down quicker and can develop bacteria. Keep your eye on the expiry date of these types of products:
Moisturiser
Three to four months for oil based.
Oil-free foundation
One year. Without the oil the product will dry out.
Mascara
Three to four months, when it becomes dry.
Lip Balm
One year for tubes, three
months for pots.
Powders
Two years. Clean your brushes regularly to discourage bacteria.
