Jessica Sepel's choc tahini bars
Afternoon snack sorted.
This combination of nutritious ingredients and amazing flavours will lift you right up.
Ingredients (makes 10)
- 10 medjool dates, pitted and chopped
- 1 ¼ cups organic oats or quinoa
- โ cup flaxseed
- 2 tbsps sesame seeds
- 3 tbsps raw cacao powder
- ¼ tsp Celtic sea salt
- โ cup hulled tahini
- โ cup virgin organic coconut oil, melted
- 2 tbsps coconut nectar, raw honey or maple syrup
Method
Place all the ingredients in a food processor and pulse until well combined – the mixture should be firm but soft.
Grease and line a 20-cm square baking tin and press the mixture in evenly with the back of a spoon.
Cover and freeze for 30–40 minutes or until firm.
Remove from the freezer and cut into 10 bars. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
