“Everyone knows the delicious fresh scent of mint,” Hamilton says. She recommends spearmint as a sweeter option to peppermint, which tastes, unsurprisingly, more peppery. “Both peppermint and spearmint leaves are delicious brewed as a tea or added fresh to cool drinks,” she says. “Mint is most often used in desserts and goes particularly well with chocolate but tastes great in savoury items too, such as mint peas, mint pesto, yoghurt and mint dip.
