This herb looks and smells like a little pine tree. Its leaves have a curiously sharp, bittersweet taste and can be used fresh or dried. Generally associated with lamb, rosemary is in fact quite a versatile herb in sweet dishes too. “It is great with roast vegetables, stews and casseroles,” Hamilton says. “Plus it can be used in desserts and is delicious in fruit salads and sorbets.”
